Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the ZTE Obsidian to your PC via USB
- On the home screen, slide the “Notification” bar down
- Make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
- From the AutoPlay window that should appear on the computer, double-click “Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer”
- Access the “Media” folder on the phone
- Open a second Explorer window and locate the desired audio files on your computer
- Copy the files, and transfer them in the “Media” directory, specifically in the “Ringtones”, “Alarms”, and / or “Audio/Notifications” folders. (NOTE: If the folders don’t exist, you can create them manually)
- After the transfer is done, click the “Safely Remove Hardware” icon in the system tray and click “Safely Remove Mass Storage Device” > “OK”
- You can now disconnect the phone from the computer
Change the Phone Ringtone:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Sound & notification”
- Tap the “gear” icon associated with the currently active sound profile
- Tap “Phone ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
- Tap “OK” to confirm, and optionally you can disable or enable” Vibrate”
Set a Custom Ringtone for a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts stored on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.
- Launch “Contacts”
- Select the contact you want to edit
- Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone
- Tap “OK” to confirm
Change the Notifications Sound:
- Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Tap “Sound & notification”
- Tap the “gear” icon associated with the currently active sound profile
- Tap “Default Notification Sound” and select the desired sound
- Tap “OK” to confirm
