Back Up Apps:
- Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to save Wi-Fi passwords, account data, and other settings on Google’s servers
- Enable “Automatic restore” to restore data automatically upon reinstalling apps
NOTE: App data will be restored automatically after you log in with your Google account for the first time on the phone (or after a fresh master reset)
Back Up Contacts:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Accounts”
- Select the account you want to use for syncing contacts
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts will be restored automatically the first time you sign in with the account used for the sync (for example after a factory reset).
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the Alcatel OneTouch Elevate and PC
- Swipe the “Status” bar down
- Ensure “Media sync (MTP)” is enabled
- From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to browse the phone’s files and folders
- Locate the desired media files
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on your computer
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray, and safely disconnect it from the computer
Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the OneTouch Elevate to the PC via USB
- Make sure “Media Sync (MTP)” is enabled in the “notification” area
- From the AutoPlay window on the computer, browse the phone’s directories
- Open another Explorer window and locate the files backed up on the computer’s HDD
- Copy the files and transfer them on your phone, preferably in the “Media” folder
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect it from the USB connector
