Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access “Settings”
- Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
- To back up account data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your Google account, enable “Back up my data”
- To automatically restore app data upon reinstalling the apps, enable “Automatic restore”
NOTE: App data will be restored automatically once you sign in with your Google account on the phone.
Back Up Contacts:
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Accounts”
- Select an account type
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync now” to sync your contacts with your account
NOTE: Contacts will be restored automatically upon logging in with your account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Asus ZenFone 2E to your computer via USB
- Swipe the “Status” bar down
- Enable “Media device (MTP)” if necessary
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, double-click to browse the phone’s files and folders
- Locate the desired media files on your phone, and copy them
- Navigate to the desired backup location on the computer, and paste the files
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by clicking the icon in the system tray
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the ZenFone 2E to your PC via USB
- Ensure that the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, select to browse the phone’s files & folders
- Open a second Explorer window and locate the media files backed up on your computer
- Copy the files and transfer them back on your phone, preferably in the “Media” directory
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB connector
