Contact Management
Create a Contact:
- Tap Contacts on the home screen
- Tap +
- Choose the location where you want to contact to be stored
- Enter the contacts name, phone number, and other details in the appropriate fields
- When ready, tap the check mark button to save the contact
Edit an Existing Contact:
- Open Contacts
- Tap and hold the desired contact
- Tap Edit
- Perform the necessary changes and when done, tap check mark
Add a Contact to Speed Dial:
- Tap the Dialer icon on the home screen
- Tap the menu bars under Dialer, and select Speed dial settings
- Tap + and select the contact you want to add to speed dialing
- Tap and hold a number on the dial pad to associate the contact with it (NOTE: number key 1 is reserved for voicemail)
Delete a Contact:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu > Delete contact
- Select the contacts you want to remove, or tap Select all
- Tap the trash can icon
- Tap Delete contacts to confirm
Import / Export Contacts
Import from Storage:
- Launch Contacts
- Tap Menu > Import / Export
- Select to Import from storage
- Select the .vcf file you want to import and tap OK
Import from SIM:
- Launch Contacts and tap Menu
- Tap Import / Export and select Import from SIM card
- Select the contacts you want to import or tap Select all
- Tap the Import icon (showing an arrow in a square)
- Lastly, select the location where you want to import the contacts
Import from a Bluetooth Device:
- Launch Contacts and tap Menu
- Tap Import / Export > Import from another phone
- Tap Supports Bluetooth > Next
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the sender device and that it is visible to other Bluetooth devices
- Tap Next and the Mate S should start scanning for other Bluetooth devices
- Once found, tap the Bluetooth device from which you want to import contacts
Import via Wi-Fi Direct:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu > Import / Export > Import from another phone
- Tap Import via Wi-Fi Direct > Next
- At the prompt, turn on Wi-Fi if necessary, and allow the phone to scan for Wi-Fi Direct devices
- Once found, tap the desired Wi-Fi Direct device to start importing contacts from it
Export Contacts to the SIM Card:
- Open Contacts and tap Menu
- Tap Import / Export > Export to SIM card
- Select the desired contacts or tap Select all
- Tap the Export button depicting an arrow exiting a square
- Tap OK
Manage Caller Groups
Create a Caller Group:
- Launch Contacts
- Access Groups
- Tap + and enter a name for the contact
- Tap OK
- To start adding contacts to the group, tap +
- Select the desired contacts and tap the check mark button
Edit an Existing Caller Group:
- Launch Contacts
- Tap Groups and select the desired group
- Tap + if you want to add a new contact to the group
- For more editing options, tap Menu and:
- Tap Remove members
- Tap Delete group
- Tap Rename
Delete a Caller Group:
- Open Contacts and access Groups
- Locate the group you want to remove
- Tap and hold the group, and tap Delete groups
- Tap Delete groups again to confirm
