Via iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with Internet access, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. Then you can easily sync the account data with the Huawei Mate S:

  1. Connect the iPhone to the computer using the USB connector
  2. Open iTunes on the PC
  3. In iTunes, click the iPhone to reveal the summary page
  4. Click the “Info” tab and enable “Sync Contacts With
  5. Select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  6. Sign in with your Google account or alternatively click “Configure” and select an existing account (if available)
  7. Click “Apply” and the syncing process will begin
  8. Once done, switch to the Huawei Mate S, register the Google account and allow it to sync contacts with your device

Via iCloud:

NOTE: If you’ve used iCloud on your iPhone before then your contacts should be already backed up on your iCloud account. You can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts in the form of a vCard file.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Head down to https://www.icloud.com/ and log in with your iCloud account
  3. In iCloud, click “Contacts
  4. Select the contacts you want to export
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard” and wait for the file to be downloaded on the computer
  6. Import the file to “Google Contacts” or alternatively, skip this step and instead:
  7. Connect the Huawei Mate S to your PC via USB, and transfer the vCard file to the phone’s storage. Then open the “Contacts” app and use the “Import” option from the app’s menu to add the vCard’s contents to your phonebook

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: The two methods above require access to a computer with an active Internet connection. However you can also use third party apps on your phones to transfer contacts without the need of a PC. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer contacts via email.

  1. Open the App Store on the iPhone and install “My Contacts Backup
  2. Open the app and tap “Backup” to create a vCard file with your iPhone contacts
  3. Once done, tap “Email
  4. Compose a new email and make sure the vCard file is attached to it
  5. Send the email to your own address
  6. Switch to the Mate S and open the email, then download the attached vCard file
  7. Import the file using the default “Contacts” app

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app you can use for transferring your contacts without using a computer. It uses a P2P connection and can also transfer content cross-platform.

  1. Open the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Visit the Google Play Store and install the same app on the Huawei Mate S
  3. Open the application on both devices
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send
  6. Lastly, choose a transfer method. For example you can tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone or “Receive” on the Mate S
