Back Up Application Data:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Access “Settings”
- Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up account data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings to Google servers
- Enable “Automatic restore” to restore data automatically upon reinstalling applications
NOTE: App data will be automatically restored on your device or another phone once you sign in with your Google account and enable sync.
Back Up Contacts:
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Accounts”
- Select the account you want to sync contacts with
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
NOTE: Contacts will be automatically restored upon the next time you log in with your Google account on the device.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the phone to your computer via USB
- Swipe the “Notification” bar down and make sure “Media sync (MTP)” is enabled
- From the AutoPlay window on the PC, click to open the phone’s files and folders
- Locate the media files on the phone and copy them
- Transfer the files to your computer
- Once done, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Rogue and PC
- From the “Notification” area on the phone, make sure the connection is set to “Media sync (MTP)”
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, double-click to navigate the phone’s folders and files
- Launch a second Explorer window and locate the media files on your computer
- Copy the files and paste them on your phone (first Explorer window), preferably in the “Media” directory
- Once the transfer is complete, click the “mass storage device” icon in the system tray and eject the phone storage, then disconnect the device from the USB
Enable Anti-Theft:
Anti-Theft is an Android security measure that once enabled, it will require a password whenever a factory reset will be attempted. To enable Anti-Theft:
- Make sure you are signed in to your Google account
- From the “Protect your phone” screen, tap “Set screen lock now”
- Select “Pattern”, “Password” or “PIN”
- Enter the desired password / PIN etc. and tap “Continue”
- Confirm the password / PIN and tap “Continue” again
- Select “Show all notification content”, “Hide sensitive notification content”, or “Don’t show notifications at all”
- Tap “Next”
- In the terms of service pop-up, tap “More” > “Next”
- Follow any additional steps if necessary
To Disable Anti-Theft:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Accounts” > “Google”
- Tap the account assigned to the device and tap “Menu”
- Tap “Remove account” twice to confirm
