Transfer Ringtones (Audio Files) From a Windows PC:
- Connect the OnePlus X to your computer via USB
- Swipe the “status” bar down and make sure the connection is set to “Media device (MTP)”
- Open an Explorer window on the computer, and locate the desired audio files on the HDD
- Copy the files, then navigate to the phone storage
- Transfer the files on the phone, preferably in the “Media” directory
- Once the transfer is done, click “Safely Remove Mass Storage” in the system tray and eject the device
- Safely disconnect the handset from the USB
Set a Custom Ringtone:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Sound” under “Device”
- Scroll to “Call Ringtone & Vibrate” and tap “Phone ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone
- Tap “OK”
- Optionally you can enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls”
Change a Contact’s Ringtone:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts stored on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.
- Launch “Contacts” and select the desired contact
- Tap “Edit” (icon shaped like a pencil)
- Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
- Select a ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
Change the Phone’s Notification Sound:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound & notification”
- Tap “Default Notification Sound” under “Sound”
- Select the desired notification sound and tap “OK” to confirm
