Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the ZenFone Max to your PC via USB
- Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
- Make sure “Media device (MTP)” is enabled
- On the PC, open the File Explorer and locate the desired audio files
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage. (NOTE: It’s recommended to add the files in the “Media” directory, in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” folders)
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from system tray and disconnect the device from the USB connector
Change the General Ringtone:
- Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound”
- Tap “Phone ringtone” under “Call Ringtones & vibrate”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
- Optionally, you can enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls”
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or the internal memory.
- Open “Contacts”
- Tap the desired contact
- Tap “Edit” > “Menu”
- Tap “Set ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
Change the Notification Sound:
- From the phone’s “Settings” menu, scroll to “Device”
- Tap “Sound & notifications”
- Tap “Default Notification Sound” under “Sound”
- Select the desired notification and tap “OK”
