Back Up App Data and Contacts:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Update & Security
  3. Tap “Backup
  4. Turn on “Back up content from participating apps

NOTE: By following the steps above, contacts saved in the “People” application will be backed up (as well as other app data).

Back Up Media Files via OneDrive:

  1. Launch the “OneDrive” application
  2. Tap “Menu” in the top-left corner
  3. Access “Settings
  4. Tap “Camera uploads” and make sure the feature is “On
  5. Select an account if necessary, which will be used for the media file backup

Factory Reset

WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all of your personal data stored on the device’s internal memory will be removed. This includes ringtones and other media files, contacts, downloaded content, applications etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values.

NOTE: Data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected by the master reset.

Reset via Settings:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Access “System
  3. Tap “About” > “Reset your phone
  4. At this point you can choose to remove provisioned content from your workplace
  5. Tap “Yes” > “Yes” to proceed
  6. Lastly, enter your Microsoft Live account’s password to confirm and reset your device

Reset via Hardware Keys:

NOTE: In case you are unable to factory reset your device via Settings using the method above, you can try resetting it by performing a combination of button presses, as follows:

  1. Make sure the device is turned off
  2. Next, press and hold “Power
  3. After the phone vibrates, release the “Power” key and quickly press and hold “Volume Down” instead
  4. At the exclamation mark screen, release “Volume Down
  5. From the exclamation mark screen, perform the following sequence of button presses:
    • Volume Up
    • Volume Down
    • Power
    • Volume Down
  6. Your device will now begin the reset process. After it’s done, it will restart automatically
