LOADS of scams are running on ebay. ALWAYS check the buyers feedback and remember the golden rule: "If it's too good to be true, it probably is", especially with ebay. Also, NEVER pay for goods up front using a bank transfer or cheque, always use a reliable payment system like paypal or nochex etc. as you may then have a source of relief from them should the deal go bad.

I bought my Samsung V205 on ebay for 1/2 price what it would have cost new, a total of $150. Yes, there are scams, but be careful who you buy from, make sure they have lots and lots of positive feedback, and make sure to pay in such a fashion that you have insurance. I didn't think twice about paying extra for the PayPal auction insurance, even though I didn't need it.

The hilarious thing is that the V205 is a picture phone that can store pics in the phone, and it came with a whole bunch of vacation pics someone left in it. The moral of the story is, if you sell your picture phone, make sure you wipe out all the pictures.
I do techinical support for medium-sized midwest cell phone company and have had experience with these phones:
