Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal”
- Turn on “Back up my data” to back up app data and settings to your Google account
- Turn on “Automatic Restore” to allow app data to be restored automatically when signing in with your Google backup account
Back Up Contacts:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to and tap “Accounts”
- Select the account type and account you want to use for contact syncing
- Turn on “Contacts” if necessary
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above can be restored automatically when signing in with your Google backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Archos Diamond 2 Plus and computer
- Turn on “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media Device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- On the computer, open the File Explorer
- Use the Explorer to locate the media files on the phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the PC storage
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Archos phone to your computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media Device (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the PC and locate the media file backups
- Transfer the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
