Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data to your Google account
- To allow app data to be restored automatically when signing in with your Google backup account, enable “Automatic restore”
Back Up and Restore Contacts:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to and tap “Accounts”
- Select the desired account type
- Tap an account to sync contacts with
- Ensure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your Google account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Plum Compass to your PC via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files form a Windows PC:
- Connect the Plum Compass to your computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
- Copy and transfer the media file backups on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) from which they originate
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
