Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset” and enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data to be automatically restored when signing in with the backup account or reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the account you want to use for contact backup
  4. Make sure “Contacts” is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Use the Explorer to locate the media files on the phone storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC storage
  6. After the transfer ends, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files form a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Navigate to the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and transfer the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folders of origin
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage from the system tray and then you can safely disconnect the device from the USB
