Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or logging in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Contacts”
- Go to “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for the backup
- Ensure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: You can restore contacts then next time you sign in with the backup account or by syncing them with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC storage
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Restore Media Files:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
