Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored the next time you log in with the backup account or when reinstalling applications
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type
- Tap the desired account you want to use for contact backup
- Make sure “Contacts” is checked and tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts can be restored the next time you log in with your backup account or by manually syncing the account data – including contacts – with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder of origin
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
