Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & Reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the desired account you want to use for syncing your contacts
- Ensure the “Contacts” check box is ticked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, including contacts, with the Android device.
Back up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC storage
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
