Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Go to “Settings”
- Access “Backup & Reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Accounts”
- Select an account type
- Select the account you want to use for syncing
- Make sure “Contacts” is checked then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account, or by manually syncing the account data, including contacts, with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Once done, you can safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
