Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Personal
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and the desired account to use for contact syncing
  4. Ensure “Contacts” is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data – including contacts – with the phone.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Navigate to the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once the process is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explore on the computer
  4. Locate the media backup files on the PC storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
  6. After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
