Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & Reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open “Contacts”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the desired account for contact syncing
- Make sure the “Contacts” check box is ticked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, and contacts with the Android device.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
