Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
- For timeout settings, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”
Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Device”
- Tap “Battery”
- Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

- Enable “Battery saver”
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

- Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and disable the feature
Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
- Tap “mobile networks”
- Tap “Preferred network type”
- Enable “2G”
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Accounts”
- Select an account type
- Tap the desired account
- Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can disable or remove unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Apps” > “All apps”
- Select the desired app
- To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
- To remove the app, tap “uninstall”
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “About phone”
- Tap “System updates”
- Check if new updates are available
- If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (NOTE: the update process will require you to reboot the phone at least once)
