Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings” and tap “Display” where you can enable or disable “Adaptive brightness
  4. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “Device
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu
  4. Enable “Battery saver

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Open “Settings” and access “Location
  4. Tap “Mode” > “Battery saving
  5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
  6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Tap “More’ under “Wireless & Networks
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type
  4. Enable “2G

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Accounts
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desired account
  5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps’ > “All apps
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” or
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the software updated at all times.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “About phone” > “System updates
  3. Check if new updates are available
  4. If so, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply available updates
