Back Up and Restore App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your Google account
- Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or logging in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for backing up contacts
- Make sure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: The contacts can be restored the next time you log in with the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Android phone and PC
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media backup files on the PC
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage preferably in the folder(s) of origin
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
