Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Device’
- Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
- Enable “Battery saver”
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease brightness
- Open “Settings” for more options

Change Sync Settings:

- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Personal” > “Accounts”
- Select an account
- Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps from the device, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Apps” under “Device”
- Ensure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
- Select the desired app
- To turn the app off, tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
- To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to and tap “About phone”
- Tap “System updates” and check if new updates are available
- If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. Note that the update process will require at least one reboot
