Back Up and Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings” and go to “Personal
  2. Tap “Backup & reset
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your Google account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be restored automatically when signing in with the backup account or reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and the desired account for syncing contacts
  4. Ensure “Contacts” is checked then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

NOTE: The contacts can be restored automatically when you sign in with the backup account.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Navigate to the media backup files on the PC
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
