Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Device
  3. Tap “Battery
  4. Tap “Menu
  5. Enable “Battery saver

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings” for more options and access “Display
  4. Enable or disable “Adaptive brightness
  5. For timeout options, access “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use, such as Hotspot, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” or “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Open “Settings” for additional options
  4. Tap “Location” > “Mode
  5. Enable “Battery saving
  6. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
  7. Turn “Tethering & mobile hotspot” Off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
  3. Access “Mobile networks
  4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You might improve battery life by removing or disabling unused third-party apps.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Apps
  3. Switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps’ if necessary
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” / “Force Stop
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Accounts” and select an account type
  3. Tap the desire account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “About phone” and tap “System updates
  3. Check if new updates are available
  4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update
