Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open “Settings” for more options
- Go to “Display” where, optionally, you can enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
- For timeout options, access “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”
Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Device” > “Battery”
- Tap “Menu”
- Enable “Battery saver”
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the “Location” > “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to turn the features Off
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Location” for GPS options

- Turn “Tethering & Mobile hotspot” Off
Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Launch “Settings”
- Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
- Access “Mobile networks”
- Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and improve battery life in the long run.
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type
- Tap the desired account
- Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the handset’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Apps’
- Switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
- Select the desired app and tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
- To remove an app, tap “Uninstall”
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “About phone”
- Tap “System updates” and check if new updates are available
- If so, follow the prompts to download and apply the update(s)
