Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Personal” and access “Backup & Reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when signing in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Accounts”
- Tap an account type
- Select the desired account for contact syncing
- Make sure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically when logging in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the PC
- Navigate to the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Restore Media Files form a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” on the phone, either when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the PC
- Copy and transfer the media backup files to the phone storage in the folders of origin
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
