Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Device
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu
  4. Enable “Battery saver

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings
  4. Go to “Display
  5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness
  6. For timeout options tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Access “Location” for GPS settings, tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand the “Wireless & networks” menu
  6. Disable” Tethering & mobile hotspot

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery pack or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Expand the “Wireless & Networks” menu
  3. Go to “Mobile networks” and tap “Preferred network type
  4. Select “2G

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps can perform regular background process and thus you might improve battery life in the long run by removing or disabling unused third-party apps from the device.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps
  3. Switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Disable” or “Force Stop
  6. Alternatively, to remove the app tap “Uninstall

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts and apps.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Accounts
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desired account
  5. Change the settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “About phone
  3. Tap “System updates
  4. Check if new updates are available
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update(s)
