Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Personal”
  3. Go to “Backup & Reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings and passwords to be automatically restored when logging in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account for syncing the contact
  4. Ensure “Contacts” is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored when signing in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data – including contacts – with the phone.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Android phone and computer
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification shade
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Copy and paste the media files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
