Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Device
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu
  4. Enable “Battery saver

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. Tap “Sleep” for timeout settings and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Feature:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Launch “Settings” for more options
  4. Access “Location” for GPS settings, tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks
  6. Disable “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: if your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Expand “Wireless & networks
  3. Go to “Mobile networks
  4. Tap “preferred network type” and select “2G

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes and they can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “Apps
  3. Switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded” if necessary
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable
  5. To remove the app, tap “uninstall

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might be able to improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “About phone
  3. Tap “System updates
  4. Check if updates are available
  5. Follow the prompts to download and install available updates
