Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Display
  4. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness
  5. For timeout settings, tap “Sleep’ and select a lower duration like “15 seconds

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Device
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu
  4. Enable” Battery saver

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: you can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” (GPS) and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn off the features
  3. Open “Settings
  4. Access “Location” for GPS settings
  5. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving
  6. Return to “Settings
  7. Expand “Wireless & Networks” and disable “Tethering & mobile hotspot

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “Wireless & Networks
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type
  4. Enable “2G

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “Accounts” and select an account type
  3. Tap the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps
  3. If necessary, switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “About phone
  3. Tap “System updates
  4. Check if new updates are available
  5. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install updates
