Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness towards the left in the quick toggle area
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Display
  4. Enable or disable “Adaptive brightness
  5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout duration like “15 seconds

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Device
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu
  4. Enable “Battery saver

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. In the quick toggle area, tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings
  4. Go to “Location” for GPS options
  5. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saving
  6. Expand “Wireless & Networks
  7. Turn “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot” Off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings” and access “Wireless & Networks
  2. Tap “mobile networks
  3. Go to “Preferred network type
  4. Enable “2G

Minimize Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not in use. You can improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third-party apps from the device.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “all apps” or “Downloaded
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” or “Force Stop
  4. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might be able to improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your apps and accounts.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “About phone” and tap “System updates
  3. Check if new updates are available
  4. If applicable, follow the prompts to complete the process
