Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings” and access “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & Reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up data to your account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the desired account
- Tick the “Contacts” check box then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the SUB cord
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the quick toggle area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media backup files
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
