Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Device
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu
  4. Enable “Battery saver

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left, then open “Settings
  3. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  4. For timeout options, tap “Sleep

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. From the quick toggle area, tap the “Location” “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Location” for GPS settings, tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saving
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”, then disable “Tethering & Mobile hotspot

Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks temporarily.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Wireless & Networks
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type
  4. Enable “2G

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps’ and switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” / “Force Stop” to disable the app
  4. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can potentially improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated. Tp check if new updates are available:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “About phone” and go to “System updates
  3. Check if new updates are available for download
  4. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install the updates
