Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Device
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu
  4. Enable “Battery saver

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings
  4. Access “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep’ and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home scree
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Location
  4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saving
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks
  6. Disable “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot

Temporarily Switch to 2G:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Wireless & Networks
  3. Access “Mobile networks
  4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your sync settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and account
  4. Change the available sync settings to minimize sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes and you can potentially improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third-party apps form the phone.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap “Disable” / “Force Stop
  5. To remove the app instead, tap “Uninstall

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “About phone
  3. Tap “System updates” and check if new updates are available
  4. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply the update
