Enable Battery Optimization:
- On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Battery” > “Battery optimization”
- Tap an app to optimize it
- Additionally, you can tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Display” > “Advanced”
- Tap “Sleep” for timeout options and select a lower timeout value
Disable Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS” quick toggles to turn the features Off
- To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the quick toggle and set the switch OFF
- Open settings for hotspot options and go to “Network & Internet”
- Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” > “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and disable the option
Uninstall Unused Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform background processes regularly and this can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. To remove third-party apps:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Apps & Notifications”
- Switch to “See all apps” and select the desired app
- Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Swipe the home screen up from the bottom
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “System” > “System update”
- Tap “Check for update” and if applicable, follow the prompts to download and install available updates
