Enable Battery Optimization:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Battery” > “Battery optimization”
- Select an app to optimize it
- Additionally, you can tap “Menu” and turn “Advanced optimization” ON
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- In the notification area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Display” > “Advanced”
- Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use, in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to turn the features off
- To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the toggle and set the switch Off
- For additional options, open “Settings”
- Access “Network & Internet” > “Hotspot & Tethering”
- Tap “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and set the switch Off
Uninstall Third-Party Applications:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes and this can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. To remove third-party apps:
- Swipe up on the home screen from the bottom
- Open “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
- Switch to “See all apps” if needed
- Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
- Launch “Settings” > “System”
- Tap “System update” > “Check for update”
- If updates are available, follow the prompts to download and apply them
