Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data. WARNING: when clearing the app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Swipe up from the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Apps & Notifications” > “All apps”
- Select the desired app and access “Storage”
- Tap “Clear cache”
- If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the issues, tap “Clear data” (check the WARNING above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:
NOTE: Before you factory reset the device, ensure you’ve backed up all of your data.
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “System” > “Reset options”
- To reset network settings, access “Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth”
- Tap “Reset settings” two times for confirmation
- To reset app settings, go to “Reset app preferences” and tap “Reset apps”
- To factory reset the device, tap “Erase all data (factory reset) > “Reset phone” > “Erase Everything”
Unisntall Apps from Safe Mode:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.
- Press and hold “Power”
- From the pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
- Wait for the device to finish rebooting and once done, it should show a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an app, open “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
- Switch to “All apps” if necessary
- Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
- To exit Safe Mode, press and hold “Power” and select “Restart” from the pop-up
