Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. Swipe up on the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Go to “Battery” > “Battery optimization
  4. Select the app you want to optimize
  5. Optionally, you can also tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. In the Notification area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings
  4. Go to “Display” > “Advanced
  5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the “Wi-Fi” toggle and set the switch OFF
  4. Open “Settings” for Hotspot options
  5. Then go to “Network & Internet” > “Hotspot & Tethering
  6. Tap “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and set the switch OFF

Remove Unused Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. To remove third-party apps:

  1. Swipe up on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings” and access “Apps & Notifications
  3. Switch to “See all apps” if needed
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
  2. Open “Settings” and go to “System
  3. Tap “System update” > “Check for update
  4. If updates are available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply them
