Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- From the Notification area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open “Settings” and go to “Display”
- Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep”
- Select a lower timeout duration
Enable Battery Optimization:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Battery”
- Tap “Battery optimization”
- Select an app to optimize
- Optionally, tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to disable the features
- To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the “Wi-Fi” toggle and set the switch OFF
- Open “Settings” and go to “Network & Internet”
- Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” > “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and disable the feature
Remove Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Third-party apps can perform background processes regularly and this can potentially affect the phone’s battery life. You can potentially improve battery life by removing unused third-party apps.
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Apps & Notifications”
- Switch to “See all apps”
- Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Launch “Settings”
- Access “System” > “System updates”
- Tap “Check for updates”
- Assuming new updates are available, follow the prompts to download and install them
