Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open “Settings” and access “Display” for additional options
- Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value for the screen
Enable Battery Optimization:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Battery” and tap “Battery optimization”
- Select an app to optimize
- Optionally, you can tap “Menu” and turn On “Advanced optimization”
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the device’s connectivity features when not in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to disable the features
- Tap and hold the “Wi-Fi” toggle and set the feature Off
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Network & Internet” > “Hotspot & Tethering” > “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and disable the feature
Uninstall Third-Party Applications:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can affect the device’s battery life. You can attempt to improve battery life by removing unused third-party apps form the phone.
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Apps & Notifications”
- Switch to “See all apps” and select the desired app
- Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life. Thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to and tap “System”
- Tap “System updates” > “Check for updates”
- Assuming new updates are available, follow the prompts to download and install them
