Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open “Settings” for more options
- Access “Display” for more options then go to “Advanced” > “Sleep”
- Select a lower timeout value
Enable Battery Optimization:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Battery” > “Battery optimization”
- Select an app to optimize
- Optionally, tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”
Uninstall Unused Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes and this can have a negative effect on battery life. Thus by removing unused third-party apps you might improve battery life.
- Open “Settings” and access” Apps & Notifications”
- If necessary, switch to “See all apps”
- Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall”
- Tap “OK”
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can potentially improve battery life by disabling the device’s connectivity features when not actively in use and avoid unnecessary network scans.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to disable the features
- Tap and hold the “Wi-Fi” toggle and disable the feature
- For additional options, access “Settings” > “Network & Internet” > “Hotspot & Tethering” > “Wi-Fi Hotspot”
- Disable the feature
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “System” > “System updates”
- Tap “Check for updates”
- If applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply the updates
