Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Battery
  3. Tap “Battery optimization
  4. Select the app you want to optimize
  5. Optionally, tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Display” for additional options
  4. Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep
  5. Select a lower timeout value

Remove Unused Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes and this can have a negative effect on battery life. By removing unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps & Notifications
  3. Switch to “See all apps
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: you can potentially improve battery life by disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use and avoid unnecessary network scans.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “GPS (location)” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Tap and hold the “Wi-Fi” toggle and turn the feature off
  4. For more options, go to “Settings” > “Network & Internet
  5. Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” > “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and disable the features

Update the OS:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated. To check for new updates:

  1. Open “Settings” and tap “System
  2. Tap “System updates
  3. Tap “Check for updates” and if applicable, follow the prompts to download and install updates
