Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Battery” > “Battery optimization
  3. Select an app to optimize
  4. Optionally, tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Display
  4. Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

Remove Unused Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform background processes regularly and this can have a negative effect on battery life. By removing unused third-party apps you might improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps & Notifications” and switch to “See all apps
  3. Select the desired app
  4. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Tap and hold “Wi-Fi” and set the switch OFF
  4. For additional network options, open “Settings” and go to “Network & Internet
  5. Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” and disable “Wi-Fi Hotspot

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “System
  3. Tap “System updates” > “Check for updates
  4. Follow the prompts and download and apply any available updates
