Enable Battery Optimization:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Battery” > “Battery optimization”
- Select an app to optimize
- Optionally, tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open “Settings” and go to “Display”
- Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value
Remove Unused Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform background processes regularly and this can have a negative effect on battery life. By removing unused third-party apps you might improve battery life.
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Apps & Notifications” and switch to “See all apps”
- Select the desired app
- Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to disable the features
- Tap and hold “Wi-Fi” and set the switch OFF
- For additional network options, open “Settings” and go to “Network & Internet”
- Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” and disable “Wi-Fi Hotspot”
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “System”
- Tap “System updates” > “Check for updates”
- Follow the prompts and download and apply any available updates
