Clear App Data/Cache:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up more storage than it should, you might be able to fix the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! By clearing the app’s data, all of your personal data located within the app will be deleted. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps & Notifications
  3. Switch to “See all apps” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
  5. If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the problems, tap “Clear data” (check the WARNING above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:

NOTE: Make sure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the phone to avoid losing it permanently.

  1. Open “Settings” and go to “System
  2. Tap “Reset options
  3. To reset network settings, tap “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth
  4. Tap “Reset” two times
  5. To reset app settings, tap “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps
  6. To factory reset the device, tap “Erase all data (Factory Reset)” > “Reset phone” > “Erase Everything

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall Apps:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “power” while on the home screen
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off” and accept to boot to Safe Mode
  3. After the device reboots, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible on the home screen. Open “Settings
  4. Go to “Apps & Notifications
  5. Switch to “See all apps” and select the desired app
  6. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK
  7. To exit Safe Mode, reboot the device normally
