Enable Battery Optimization:
- Launch “Settings”
- Access “Battery” and tap “Battery optimization”
- Select the app you wish to optimize
- Optionally, tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”
Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Drag the Status bar down form the home screen
- In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease brightness
- Open “Settings” and go to “Display” for more options
- Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep”
- Select a lower timeout value
Remove Third-Party Applications:
NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes and this can affect battery life in a negative way. By removing unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life.
- Open “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
- Switch to “See all apps”
- Select the desired app
- Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the “GPS (Location)” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features OFF
- Tap and hold the “Wi-Fi” Toggle and disable the feature
- Open “Settings” and go to “Network & Internet” for more options
- Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” and disable “Wi-Fi Hotspot”
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for new updates:
- Open “Settings”
- Access “System”
- Tap “System updates” > “Check for updates”
- If updates are available, follow the prompts to download and install them
