I have an older Motorola E series, IIRC, that I retired a while back. Doesn't have a SIM but I use it for stuff like weather apps and Hue lighting control over wi fi at home. Works fine for that.
So I'm gonna turn on the lights as the afternoon sun goes away. There's a dozen notifications there...from CGTN, China Global Television Network. WHAT??? Pushing their shows. Never heard of these people. They have an app...but it's not on the phone. Nor is anything funny looking.
I did still have its old account, so one possibility is the account name got exposed somewhere along the line. Still...it's weird. Deleted all the notifications, of course, and decided to clean out some of the other stuff (like the old account).
Anyone know anything about this, or had a similar experience?
