ok well we all know that the first 3 numbers in a phone number r the area code. Im wondering what the next 3 numbers represent
like lets say this is your number:
123-456-7890
123 is the area code
what is 456?
the reason im wondering is because im tyring to figure out the location of a phone number
idk it might not be anything, but im thinking it is because if it wasn't then they probably wouldn't have a hyphen after it
this is for cell phone numbers, not home phone numbers

Re: number question
456 used to be known as the "exchange"... I believe it is an antiquated term....
