I just had the worst... no ABSOLUTE worst customer service rep on the phone, in the Corporate/governmen secton of phone customer service. His name was Ron... but anyhow getting on to my question...
All Sprint/Nextel customers had to set up a "PIN" number, which is a 6 digit number. This ass from customer service tells me its something the FCC had them do?!!? Is this true, or some sort of lie from this guy I was talking with? I could not remember the number, he asked me a security question, i got that wrong so he tells me they are locked out of my account, and the ONLY way it would get unlocked was by going to a store location and have it reset. The guy would not let me get a word in edge wise, would not let me speak to a supervisor, and would not help me with the closest store location. long story short, i hung up, found where i wrote the PIN number down and called back, and mysteriously the next rep i talked to was able to access my account and he had no idea what i was talking about when i asked if he was locked out of my account.
so anyhow... my ultimate question is... where can i find that the FCC is requiring Sprint/Nextel to make these pins????
Thanks all!

Re: Legal Question
sounds like you just got a rep who did not want to cooperate with you. Sorry, but that's Sprint, they have a rep for bad customer care.

Re: Legal Question
yeah..i've heard that the government MADE them do this, if you dont have the pin (or forgot it cause they forced every customer to create one) the security question has to be in the exact words.
my dad forgot his pin code..they asked him the security question..(he forgot it)..next step security question.."what was your first employer?" we tried Restaurant, Taco Shop, Jilberto's, Mexican food..and nothing. So we went to a corporate store to verify I.D billing address, etc..
The Stupid answer was El Restaurante Jilbertos..Those mother#%^&#@% it was the same crap but in spanish.
Now..You might think that it was a white guy who does not know that Restaurant in spanish was Restaurante..His mother#%^*^ name was Carlos something.

Re: Legal Question
I don't think that was too smart for you to tell us what the password us.
People could track your IP, find your name, then find your dads, take your dads phone number, commit evil deeds, sell the number or sometime. Sounds like a waste of time but people do do it.
Just a heads up.
