Why is it that every single year on January 1st 12:00 midnight to around 12:10 more or less every cell phone drops. You can't send text or send calls but you can receive calls if someone uses a land line or someone is lucky enough to get threw with their phone.

    why does this happen?

Re: new years cell phone question?

    Happens in my area also.

It is a known issue with most wireless carriers.

It seems to be a tradition to send "Happy New Year" via text message to all of your friends at midnight on new years. This causes a severe delay in messaging. This can also delay voice services (calling). Also, some people may call and say happy new year instead which causes an even larger delay.

It isn't the wireless carriers fault, necessarily.

I see...I would have thought it's something more along the line of a program reset due to the new years....

    thanks for the response ^^
